MACGREGOR Netball Associationhas taken out the Mount Franklin Challenge Open Division 1 title with a hard fought 49-34 victory over Warwick Netball Association at the State Netball Centre on Friday night.
Scores were even for the majority of the match before MacGregor stamped their authority early in the final quarter to seal the victory.
MacGregor coach Max Holzberger said she was proud of her team’s ability to make their first grand final appearance and come away with the win in the Mount Franklin Challenge Open Division 1.
“It was a very even game and our defence and discipline in the last quarter was the turning point to take the match,” she said.
The Mount Franklin Challenge Open Division 2 grand final was as equally hard fought with Downey Park Netball Association taking their second consecutive title defeating Western Districts 56-46.
The winning margin was more convincing in the 19 years Division 1 competition with Semmna defeating Redlands 54-32.
Caloundra Netball has taken out the 19 years Division 2 crown with a 49-44 victory against Metropolitan Districts Netball Association.
The future of Downy Park Netball Association looks bright with their 16 years team also coming away victorious defeating Logan City 49-39 to take out this year’s Division 1 title.
The 16 years Division 2 title was an all-Sunshine Coast affair with Caboolture holding on to take the win from Caloundra 52-40.
