Eight of Queensland’s finest netballers, the most of any other state, will head to Canberra tomorrow for the 17/U National Camp being held at the Australian Institute of Sport.
The 17/U Queensland State took out the National Netball Championships in Sydney in last month where the athletes were selected for the Australian squad.

As well as the athletes, Golden South Jaguars and 19/U Queensland Assistant Coach Linda Peterson will be attending the camp as part of the Netball Australia Targeted Coach Program.
Netball Queensland Elite Development Coach Kylee Byrne will be down in Canberra as the Queensland SIS/SAS Coach and said Queensland has plenty of talent on offer for the National Selctors.
“After witnessing what these athletes did at the National Championships and their performances in winning the title, I am really excited to see what they can do at the National Camp,” Byrne said.
“It’s such an exciting age group for netball in Queensland and at the camp they will have the opportunity to work with some of the best coaches in the country and be put through their paces by the likes of Australian 21/U Coach Tania Obst.”
“Our defensive end was particularly impressive at the Championship and I can’t wait to work with Tara Hinchliffe, Kim Jenner, Bella Sorby and Maddie Hinchliffe,” Byrne said.
The players will be put through their paces for four days focusing on individual skills at the defensive end, attack and midcourt along with match play and off court development.
