Netball Queensland is excited to announce the Regional Academy Program squads for 2015 in all 12 regions across the state.
Athletes throughout all of Queensland aged 14-16 years could nominate to trial and Netball Queensland has had an overwhelming response with more than 500 athletes trialing for the Regional Academy Program.
In January the regional academy squads will come together in Brisbane for an elite training camp, where they will be fitness tested, receive expert coaching and be involved in match play.
Over the course of the weekend a squad of 30 talent identified players will be selected from the match play and this will make up the Netball Queensland Academy, which is the additional super layer of elite development
Netball Queensland have appointed current successful 19U coach Christine Voge to role of Netball Queensland Academy Head Coach, who will monitor the progress of the squad and will be involved in coach mentoring the Regional Academy Coaches.
The 30 talent identified athletes will have one-on-one sessions with the Voge and will take part in a monitored program following the Netball Australia Develop a Diamond curriculum.
