Netball Queensland and the Coffee Club Queensland Firebirds are pleased to announce a new partnership with FC 11 – Australia’s Leading Sports Education Provider. The partnership sees FC 11 become an Official Industry Training Partner of Netball Queensland and the Coffee Club Queensland Firebirds.

The nationally accredited (SIS50612) Diploma of Sport Development is a full-time applied based curriculum model currently conducted in Melbourne, Glenwood, Brisbane, Newcastle and Penrith across a range of sports including Football, Rugby League and Cricket, where students train and study consecutively.

It is suitable for individuals that have completed high school and are either looking to become a professional or semi-professional player, sports coach, sports trainer, sports administrator or looking to work in sports management, sports tourism and events/facility management.

A typical day in the course would see two hours dedicated to physical development (recovery sessions, netball sessions, strength and conditioning, wellness management, screening) and four hours inclusive of both theoretical and applied learning.

FC 11 directors Mr Michael Katsaris and Mr Milton Sakkos are delighted with the new partnership, believing the program is perfect for Queensland athletes.

“This is an exciting new partnership for FC 11, as we look to provide the best possible and complementary solution for netballers to not only better themselves as athletes, but also give them a valuable education while they pursue their own netball careers within the sporting industry” Mr Sakkos said.

“We want to give players the opportunity to remain in the sports industry in many different roles, and this partnership will allow us to extend our reach across the netball community,” Mr Katsaris said.

Netball Queensland CEO, Catherine Clark is also pleased to announce the partnership.

“Netball Queensland is excited to partner with FC11, providing an opportunity for aspiring young netballers to simultaneously train and receive an education.  While only a small number of players reach the highest levels of the game, the skills and qualifications gained through the FC11 Diploma of Sport Development – Netball, will provide graduates with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development, management and sustainability of netball at all levels in Queensland”

Course commences on Monday 4th April 2016.
