The Mission Queensland Firebirds will be at the Ekka for the first time as part of the Netball Queensland stand.
Netball is only one of five sports on show in the Coca-Cola Sports Precinct and some of the elite Firebirds players are excited to be taking part.
Three of the Firebirds young stars, Verity Simmons, Gabi Simpson and Gretel Tippett along with Firebirds coach Roselee Jencke will be at the Ekka to show off their netball skills.
“I can’t wait to go to the Ekka for the first time and meet our fans especially those from the country areas and it will be a great opportunity for me to really cement myself as part of this city,” Simmons said.
Not only will the players be selling the first ever Firebirds showbag, they will be taking part in a host of interactive activities which include the brand new Laura Geitz, ‘give it your best shot’ target wall, where you have to throw a netball through the fast hands of our golden girl.
The Netball Queensland chill out zone is up and running for parents to rest their tired legs plus everyone’s favourite mascot, Missie will be appearing daily.
“It’s really cool to have our very own showbag, so hopefully everyone will stop in and visit us at the stand and grab one,” Simmons said.
“We are looking forward to seeing if we can find some little future Firebirds too, and I can’t wait to show off our great sport at the Ekka.”
The Firebirds fluro canvas bag is packed with netball goodies including a great Barbie shirt, Firebirds clapper, Firebirds tattoos, and your choice of waterbottle, Firebirds flag or keyring and all for only $20.
Firebirds merchandise will also be on sale with limited stocks in hoodies, balls and a choice of keyrings and badges.
The Netball Queensland stand at the Coca-Cola Sports Precinct will be open from 9am-5pm daily.
