The Brisbane West Lions Queensland Champions Cup (QCC) team finished a solid season on a positive note on Saturday night at the State Netball Centre.
The team lost 60:45 to the Suncoast Lynx, but Coach Linda Peterson said it was a competitive game.
“The second and third quarters were really even and that was a real positive. We competed really well and the game seemed to change momentum back and forth between the teams. We finished the season on a good note,” said Peterson.
Peterson said all ten players had performed admirably, particularly noting the efforts of two players from the club’s second side who came up to join the QCC team.
Despite not making the elimination finals of the competition, Peterson said the season had been beneficial for the development of the team.
“We’re looking forward to strengthening the team next year and getting a result more worthy of my expectations and the talent in the team,” said Peterson.
The club’s second side, the Brisbane West Lions Mission Queensland State Netball League (MQSNL) team, will play in the major semi-final of the competition next Saturday 29 June at Logan Metro.
