The Golden South Jaguars have continued their winning streak with a 58:27 win against the Brisbane West Lions at the State Netball Centre on Saturday night.
The Lions started the game with a strong sense of determination but were no match for the speed of the Jaguars who quickly out-performed the Brisbane side.
Coach Paula Stuart said she was proud of her team’s efforts.
“I’m pleased with the skill the girls showed on the court. Here’s hoping that they stay focused and remember the importance of a consistent level of effort during the match.”
Stuart made sure to mention the hard work of players Jade Fiscalini (GK) and Evelyn Horomia (WA) for keeping the team together during the match.
“These girls always surprise our opponents and keep them on their toes. I’m glad to have them on our side.”
The win nudges the Jaguars into fourth spot on the league ladder. This week’s match against second-placed Kedron Wavell Services Club Cougars at the State Netball Centre on Saturday at 7pm will determine if they make the finals at the end of the month.
Stuart said that the match would not be one her team take lightly.
“It will be tough and fiercely fought, but I’ve got faith in my girls to pull us through.”
