PURPOSE

The purpose of the Nissan 16U and 18U State Titles is to provide an opportunity for the best players, coaches and umpires from across Queensland (QLD) to compete against each other in a high quality competition.  It also provides players with a shared platform to compete for selection in the QLD 17U and 19U Squads for the following year as well as creating the transition point from Association based netball (State Age, QPL) into a broader regional representative netball to drive the competitiveness and depth of talent in the Ruby and Sapphire Series competitions.

Concussion Management Program

Netball Queensland have partnered with the Headsmart Sports Concussion Program to help manage concussion and the return to play process for Netballers of all ages across Queensland.  For a very small annual fee of $20, Netballers can undergo an online baseline assessment which will then provide valuable individualised feedback if they do suffer a head knock during the season.  This information will assist medical practitioners to accurately assess the player’s concussion status and capacity to return to play safely.  All of Netball Queensland’s elite programs, including the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds are using this program and we would encourage all players to do the same.  For more information please review the information paper here. NQ and Headsmart Sports Concussion Program
