The Mission Queensland Firebirds roster has one more spot to fill for the 2015 ANZ Championship season, and it is not in the playing ranks!
Netball Queensland are looking for an Assistant Coach to support the Firebirds successful head coach Roselee Jencke and join one of the leading performance netball programs in the country and work with some of the best athletes in the business.
High performance manager Adam Abbott said there is a significant addition to the role from previous years in that it will be combined with the role as the Queensland Fusion head coach.
The Fusion compete in the Australian Netball League (ANL) with the Queensland team recently coming off one of its most successful seasons finishing runners-up and is the pathway for young athletes to reach their goal of one day playing in the ANZ Championship.
“This will allow Netball Queensland to continue to develop closer links between the Firebirds and Queensland’s underpinning program in the Fusion and in turn strengthen the pathway for Queensland athletes to the ANZ Championship,” Abbott said.
“This is an exciting time for netball in Queensland and an exciting opportunity for prospective applications. This opportunity is something that comes around very rarely.”
“We are looking for someone who can assist Roselee as our Head Coach, develop, manage and deliver an elite netball program that facilitates short and long term excellence and success for the Firebirds and the Fusion,” Abbott said.
