Queensland Fusion has dominated in Round 1 of the Australian Netball League, defeating Territory Storm 76-38 at the University of Sunshine Coast Health and Sport Centre on Saturday, July 6 at 6:30pm.
As both teams hit the court hard, showing off their quick footwork and effortless teamwork, it was the Fusion who broke ahead gaining a 7-point lead at quarter time.
Not going down without a fight, the Storm worked hard to put pressure on the Fusion making for an energy filled quarter with both teams fighting for dominancy.
The high intensity match came to ahead after half time with each team possessing incredibly strong goal shooters who were well supported by the mid-section but it was the Fusion who pushed ahead in the third quarter to further increase their lead by 25-points.
The final quarter saw the Fusion continue to gain momentum as a result of seamlessly feeding the ball to goal shooter Beryl Friday who lead the team to victory with a 96% shooting percentage.
