The Netball Queensland Awards celebrates the achievements and contributions of the individuals and groups dedicated to providing memorable netball experiences throughout 2018.
The growth and development of netball within Queensland is at the heart of everything we do and we are excited to highlight the great work that occurs at every level of the netball landscape in Queensland.
This award recognises Netball Organisations (Associations and Clubs) that demonstrate excellence in governance, administration, workforce development and leadership that strengthen and sustain netball participation. The awarded organisation’s will have significantly contributed to the growth, development and delivery of netball within the netball community during the award period.
- Netball Organisation (Over 550 members)
- Netball Organisation (Under 550 members)
The community netball workforce (paid and unpaid) plays a vital role in sustaining and developing netball from grassroots through to the high-performance level. This award seeks to recognise the ‘all-rounder’ whose work has significantly contributed to the growth, development, sustainability, and delivery of netball within the netball community during the award period.
- Spirit of Netball (over 21 as at 1 January 2018)
- Youth Spirit of Netball (21 years or younger as at 1 January 2018)
Officials play a critical role in ensuring the success of our sport at both a grassroots and performance level. It is the dedication and commitment of officials within Netball Queensland that help develop the sport.
The Official of the Year Award recognises an official who has excelled in providing support, development and growth to officials and/or demonstrated a high standard of performance as an official. This person may have performed their role as umpire, umpire coach or bench official.
Coaches play a vital role in ensuring the success of our sport at both a grassroots and performance level. It is the dedication and commitment of coaches within Netball Queensland who nurture our athletes and is paramount to the health of the sport.
The Community Coach of the Year Award is presented to a person who has coached in Netball Queensland sanctioned competitions and events, from the Club, Association or School level and up. This person may have performed their role as coach in either a paid or unpaid capacity.
This award recognises the vital contribution Schools make to the success of netball in the across Queensland. The commitment of schools to attract, nurture, develop and educate participants is paramount to the health of the sport.
