Gillett noted that Abigail Meafou and Kaitlin Pollard played particularly strong games.
The Lions will now face the QGESS Capricorn Claws in the Preliminary Final at the University of the Sunshine Coast. on Saturday, 6 July at 8.30pm. Gillett said the team is prepared for a tough game.
“Last time we played Claws was in Round 2 of the competition and they beat us 47:38, so it’s going to be a really tough game. We just have to clean up our act and make sure we stay consistent,” she said.
The winner of the Preliminary Final will progress to the Grand Final against the Cougars at the Logan Metro Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday, 13 July at 6pm.
