The Queensland Fusion are the state’s second-tier elite team, competing in the Deakin University Australian Netball League (DUANL) and acting as a direct feeder to the Queensland Firebirds.

Following two months of training and match play, the 2020 Queensland Fusion Team to compete in the DUANL has been selected.  The selection panel had the difficult task of choosing the final 14 players from a highly competitive squad with all players performing exceptionally well both on and off the court.

Returning to the team in 2020 are the experienced shooting trio of Rylie Holland, Mia Stower and 2019 Co- Captain Amy Sommerville.  2019 Firebird, Tippah Dwan comes back in the team after a year out through injury and 19U Australian Squad representative, Charlie Bell has also been selected.

The core of the 2019 Fusion midcourt returns in 2020 and includes 2019 Co-Captain, Madison Hinchliffe, 19U Australian Squad representative Leesa MiMi and Jada Gafa.  2020 Firebird training partner Hulita Veve makes a welcome return to the Queensland Fusion midcourt.

2019 Fusion defenders Bridey Condren, Shenae Grant and current Firebirds training partner Ruby Bakewell Doran return in 2020, with talented newcomer Danielle Taylor also selected alongside former Samoan defender, Lenora Misa.

Head Coach, Jenny Brazel said “the commitment and performances of all the squad players over the last two months made it extremely challenging for the selectors to finalise the team, with all players pushing hard for selection.  The 14 players selected are an exciting group and all have the ability to perform well in the competition.  Our versatility across this playing group is a strength and it will ensure it continues to be a challenge to choose the 12 players out of this group for all our away games.” She said.

The 2020 DUANL has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
