Ways to engage parents in your Suncorp NetSetGO centre
Parents play an important role in children's development and learning. Parent involvement in Suncorp NetSetGO is highly encouraged and a great way for parents to have fun with their children and learn more about the program. There are many ways to engage parents in NetSetGO at your local centre, see below a few ideas:
1. Parent Helpers- at the beginning of your NetSetGO program ask for parents to jump in and assist with activities. Parents are a great way to have an extra set of hands. Parents can assist in set up and pack down of the sessions, help with activities, participate with their children.
2. Parent Umpires- rotate parents each session as umpires for NetSetGO
3. Parents as equipment- Place a parent on the netball court in replacement of a cone, encourage the parent to high five the children and encourage the children as they complete the activities.
4. Game Sense activities- We encourage all NetSetGO centres to follow the game sense approach. this approach not only benefits the children's learning and development but is also a great way for parents who may not be familiar with netball to get involved.
5. Registration form- Place a question on your NetSetGO registration form and ask parents if they are available and happy to assist throughout the NetSetGO program.
6. Participants- get the participants to go and ask their mum, dad or guardian to come over and join in on the activities.
