The Queensland Gems are the State team for women with an intellectual disability.

Each year the Queensland Gems compete in the Nation Tournament, Marie Little Shield.

Join the Gems in 2026

Come along to our Queensland Gems Come and Try session and experience the fun, energy and skill of representative netball in a welcoming environment. 
Brisbane: 
Session 1: Sunday 22nd March 2026 @Nissan Arena 10am-12pm 
Session 2: Saturday 28th March 2026 @Nissan Arena 10am-12pm 
Townsville: 
Wednesday 11th March 2026 - 4pm @ Townsville Stadium, Annadale.

Eligibility

We encourage all players 14+ with an intellectual disability to get involved with the Queensland Gems.
The state team selection will however be based on the eligibility criteria which has been set out for the national Marie Little Shield tournament by Netball Australia. See below eligibility criteria:
Female athletes with an intellectual disability
Aged 16+
Players must go directly through Sport Inclusion Australia for classifications. Further information on eligibility criteria can be found below
