Growing up in Allora, in the Darling Downs, Geitz nearly quit netball when homesickness hit during a stint at the Australian Institute of Sport with the Canberra Darters. Convinced to tough it out in the capital by her father, Geitz returned to Queensland in 2008 to join the Firebirds.

Geitz made an astonishing 169 national league appearances, winning three premierships with the Queensland Firebirds including back-to-back titles in 2015 and 2016 as captain before announcing her retirement.

Geitz not only would captain the Firebirds, but took on the captain role for her country, making 71 appearances as an Australian Diamond. Whilst apart of the team, Geitz assisted in winning the World Cup gold in 2011 and 2015, and captained Australia to gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

In 2011, Geitz was awarded the Liz Ellis Diamond Award, and was honoured by the creation of a bronze sculpture, made by Liam Hardy, which sits outside the Nissan Arena today. Each year, the Queensland Firebirds presents their MVP award which has been named in her honour.
