Things moved fast for Lia in November when she answered a phone call from Queensland Firebirds Head Coach Bec Bulley to jump on a plane and be a last-minute replacement for COVID-hit Ash Unie in the Suncorp Spirit Cup clash against Sunshine Coast Lightning in Mackay.
A member of last year’s Queensland Sapphires team that won bronze at the Australian Netball Championships in Victoria, Lia was also an Australian 17U and 19U representative and has been playing netball since she was five.
