QUEENSLAND Firebirds captain Kim Ravaillion is urging the netball community to seize the chance to secure a University of Queensland scholarship.
Netball Queensland has teamed up with the University of Queensland to create four scholarships to encourage and support new students who have demonstrated a passion for netball.
Anyone who is finishing Year 12 in 2022 who intends to enrol as a commencing student at UQ in 2023 and has an affiliation to Netball Queensland – whether as a player, coach or volunteer – in the past two years is eligible for the $5,000 scholarship.
The deadline for applications has been extended until December 7 and Ravaillion believes it’s an opportunity not to be missed.
“I’d love to see major contributors in our netball community receiving the financial assistance this scholarship will offer to help them succeed in their university studies,” Ravaillion said.
“The cost of tertiary study is a big one for any school leaver especially when add in things like laptops, books, even petrol money to get to and from campus.
“There’s only a small amount of time left for people to apply for these scholarships and I would definitely encourage anyone who is interested to throw their hat in the ring.”
