Netball Queensland has secured an innovative technology solution to assist its member Associations in tracking attendees following the resumption of competition.
EVA check-in, a product of the innovation lab at New Zealand based technology company Theta, provides a secure and contactless check-on service via the scanning of a QR code.
The EVA check-in technology will be rolled through Associations across the State, as well as the home of Netball in Queensland, Nissan Arena.
Netball Queensland’s General Manager – Delivery Network, Matthew Battams, said the new platform will provide accurate and effortless tracing while easing the administrative burden on Associations.
“The health and safety of our members, as well as the broader community remains our priority and the use of the EVA check-in technology will greatly assist health authorities in the case of a positive test,” Battams said.
“With the resumption of competition netball well underway, we want to ensure our Associations are equipped to adequately trace attendees in a diligent but convenient way that requires minimal manual recording from our dedicated volunteers.”
“Netball Queensland will also cover the cost of implementing this technology across the State, enabling our Associations to invest all their energy and resources into delivering the best possible season for our members.”
Each Association, as well as Nissan Arena, will have their own check-in poster featuring a QR Code, with visitors able to quickly scan themselves in using a smart phone in accordance with the tracing requirements of the State Government’s COVID Safe plan.
It will be equally as important that visitors also scan themselves out when leaving the venue, in order to register an exit time.
Once successfully scanned, the user will be re-directed to a secure platform to enter their name and contact details, with the data encrypted and stored in a cloud-based solution for 56 days before being deleted.
Every attendee, including players, coaches, officials, Association volunteers and all spectators, will be required to check-in at their respective venues.
This can be completed by signing a playing scorecard (players and umpires), a manual paper register or the new EVA check-in service.
