Netability is an inclusive netball program for people with a disability. The program provides participants an opportunity to play netball in a fun, safe and inclusive environment. The program was first established at Metropolitan District Netball Association since 1984.
Unified Netball is a new competition within Netball Queensland. During game play, teams of 10 will require 4 players with a disability and 3 partner athletes (Players without a disability) on the court. A maximum of one partner (player without a disability) is allowed in each third of the court where possible.
Modified Netball Rules, also known as the Blue Band Initiative, has been introduced across Netball in Queensland to create a more inclusive and accessible game for all. These rules are tailored to suit individual players, ensuring everyone can participate in a safe, fair, and meaningful way.
Hit the Dot and Netball Queensland have teamed up to provide people with Disabilities to play netball, improve fitness, become a part of a team and learn life skills.
