NetballConnect Update - 13 - December 2024 Coach and Umpire Accreditations

Umpire and Coaching accreditations will be captured via the Netball Connect registration process and will automatically populate accreditation levels and expiration dates directly taken from Netball Australia’s learning management system.

NetballConnect Updates - 10 July 2024

  • Registration Dashboard exports include export registration, new registrations, returning registration and non-returning registrations.
  • Officials' Dashboard – add 'Result' status
  • Home screen notifications – bulk 'Read' option, bulk 'Mark Notifications'
  • Registration dashboard – newest registration filters first
  • Venue Export – export key information around venues

  • New Admin Role 'No Admin Access' – Allow committee members to be added to the organisation contacts without giving them 'Admin' access
  • Teams' module enhancement – add registration status to teams and asterisk indicators of teams/individuals that are not registered and cannot be pushed to Match Day
  • Custom finals' improvement – allow teams to join Round 2 of finals even if they didn’t play Round 1.

Registering Players for Carnivals - The Ramifications of Creating Duplicate Profiles

 

If you have the responsibility to register a team's players in NetballConnect for a carnival they are participating in, you need to be careful that you have the correct details for the profile, because, if you do not match the details exactly (contact email address, spelling of first name (including if they are known in NetballConnect by a shortened version of their name (e.g. Isabella / Bella), spelling of last name, date of birth, etc.), NetballConnect will create a new profile for that individual.

 

The capping that may have applied to the individual you were seeking to register is not going to apply and the 2024 Netball Queensland Carnival membership will be charged as part of the registration process.

 

NetballConnect is not able to apply capping to profiles that are almost the same, if there are two profiles that have almost the same details, a new profile will be created in NetballConnect.

 

For any Season 2024 Netball Queensland Membership fees to be recognised and contribute towards the capping for the registration, the same profile that has the Netball Queensland membership must be the profile that is allocated to the team you are registering.

Replicate Player and Borrowed Player Options Now Available

    Replicate Players

    Registered Players (those with active playing memberships) can now be added to multiple teams within the same competition, using the 'Replicate Player' option.  To activate this in your competition, you will need to select 'Yes' to replicate player in your competition details in Fixtures.

    Once this is selected, you will be able to drag players into multiple teams within a competition.  To gain access to a player that has already be assigned to a team, click on the toggle button to 'Turn Off, Only Show Unassigned'.  This will show all participants, you can then just drag and drop the player you would like added to another team (this can be a different division but needs to be part of the same competition).  This player will now have multiple team names next to their name.

    Using replicate players will reduce the number of times a player needs to register to the one competition and reduces the need for organisations to create discount codes for those players.

     

    Borrowed Players Outside Your Organisation / Competition

     

    Borrow players can now be added to teams lists without having to be registered to the competition.  This means that as long as a player has an active playing membership and is registered using the same membership product, you will be able to add them to your team list as a borrowed player, even if they are not registered to your competition.  Please be aware you will still need to follow the borrowed player rule for your competition.

    NetballConnect Updates - 6 May 2024

     

    'Teams' Module - New filter on the registration status that filters out all deregistered, failed registrations and players with expired memberships.

    Buzzer - An option is now available to use a single device plugged into your PA system that will use NetballConnect as a buzzer for your games.  This can be done by any Admin User for your organisation by logging into the device, select 'Buzzer' in their profile, add in the 'Venue' and select 'Courts'.

    Registration Dashboard - You now have the ability to view the graph from the organisational data in relation to registrations.  To gain access to this feature, select 'Graph View' from the Registration Dashboard.

    Shop (Shop Products and Tickets) - All Shop Products and Tickets can be made either 'public' or 'hidden'.  Shop Products and Tickets that are designated as 'hidden' will only be visible to those that have the link that is generated in your organisation's NetballConnect Shop.

    You can now link products to a membership product.  This will prompt members when registering to purchase the linked product.

    You can now request the Participant's name to be attached to the order.  This name will show in both the Product Order Status and in your organisation's Stripe Payout Reports.

    Updates for NetballConnect - 6 March 2024

      Umpires

      • Pool and Division columns have now been added to the 'Umpire' dashboard.

      • Umpires can now provide a reason for declining allocations.  Reasons can be viewed by Club/Association Admins by exporting the rounds allocations.

      • New tiles in the 'Umpire' dashboard indicating the number of accepted, declined and no response for Umpire allocations.

      Fixtures

      • Ability to generate draw with custom round daters per grade or division.  This can be entered on the competition format page, in match format and then selecting manually set rounds start dates and times.

      • Ability to rename rounds in Draws.

      • Ability to see when shared venues are being used by another organisation when creating a draw.

      Teams

      • Ability to add non-playing members that are already registered to the organisation to a competition in Teams.

      • Date of Birth is no longer a requirement when adding non-playing participants in Teams.

      Match Day

      • Ability for Associations/Clubs to allow Managers and Umpires to lodge a forfeit.  This still requires the Club and Association to approve the request, prior to the opposition team being informed of the forfeit.

      Auditing Your Organisation's Admin Users

      With Season 2024 underway, now is a good time to review who is connected to your organisation's profile in NetballConnect and determine whether changes are required.

      Are there former committee members / paid staff members who no longer require the ability to have significant access to your organisation's NetballConnect?

      Are all the people who have recently taken on a role that involves NetballConnect on your organisation's profile?

      These changes can be made by an existing Admin User within the organisation.

      You are now able to include roles for your committee members when updating the administrators on your organisation's NetballConnect profile.

      By adding an 'organisation' email, communications can now be specific to those roles within your organisation.

      Release of Season 2024's Member Association Training Manual

      Season 2024's NetballConnect Training Manuals for Member Associations and Clubs are now available in the NetballConnect Administrators' webpage of the Netball Queensland website.

      Updates for NetballConnect - 15 December 2023

      • Teams Module - The Teams Module will now be where Clubs and Associations can complete their player grading and team creation.  This will now allow you to choose multiple players at the same time to allocate to their teams.  Please see the Player and Team Grading resource if you need any guidance on how to complete player grading and team nominations.
      • Enhancement for following Teams or Associations - When following a Team in the NetballConnect app, you will now be able to choose to select Team/s or Divisions/Grades.
      • Competition Module - The Competition Module is now called 'Fixtures'.  The Player Grading section of this module has been removed and Player Grading now sits under 'Teams'.
      • Registrations - You can now choose to create a registration that does not include fixtures.  The Event/Program option in your Registration can be used for any registrations that you take that do not require a draw to be created.  Potentially, this could be for Netball Activities such as Clinics.
      • Update of the list of competitions showing in Communication to include those participating in competitions.
      • Default ladder points are now set to zero.
      • Umpires will now automatically populate from the Officials' dashboard.

      Afterpay

      Afterpay offers enhanced payment flexibility for registering users.  Afterpay is a buy now, pay later service that allows participants to register and then split the payments into four interest free instalments.

      The organisation that the participant is registering with will be responsible for the Afterpay transaction fee of 5.7% + $0.30 of the total payment amount.  When setting fees, organisers need to be aware that anyone using this payment option will lose part of their profile for each registration using this fee and should budget accordingly.

      Administrators can enable Afterpay by following the below steps.

      Navigate to registrations, click on '+ New Registration', create the registration for your new competition or for an existing registration click on the competition name and go to payment tab and tick the Afterpay option.

      Participants can set up Afterpay payments by following the below steps.

      Register to competitions using the provided link or through the app.  In payment methods, select instalments by Afterpay.

      After selecting 'Submit', you will then be prompted to the Afterpay login page.  Login and verify the payment.

      The participant will receive an invoice from NetballConnect.

      The participant can track their instalments by logging into Afterpay and go to 'Orders'. This will show all of the participants upcoming and completed instalments.

      Additional Information

      • Players that deregister through the system where a refund is given will receive an email from Afterpay that they will receive the refund amount back to their card or they will be informed on the reduction of fees from Afterpay.
      • Players that transfer / move that have used Afterpay will have their payments continued, as per the instalment dates set.
      • Any partial refund that is given due to transfer / deregistration will result in instalment payments being reduced by Afterpay to accommodate for the partial refund.

      Request a Virtual NetballConnect Training Session in Season 2024

      In 2024, Netball Queensland is now offering the Netball Queensland Community (including Member Associations, their Affiliated Clubs and Community Members) the ability to request virtual NetballConnect training sessions throughout the year.

      This opportunity would be of benefit for organisations in the Netball Queensland Community that have had a turnover in its committee members, where NetballConnect knowledge has been lost as part of the turnover, or an organisation within Netball Queensland's Community that would like to refresh, or expand on, their existing knowledge base of the NetballConnect modules.
