This enduring partnership continues to create exciting opportunities for Year 12 students with a connection to netball, bridging the gap between their academic ambitions and their love for the sport.
This year, four fortunate individuals will have the chance to secure a $5,000 scholarship with applications underway.
To be considered for the scholarship applicants must:
- complete Year 12 in 2023;
- intend to enrol as a commencing student at UQ in 2024 in any undergraduate program; and
- demonstrate they have played netball for school or a club, or contributed to the sport of netball through coaching or volunteering within the previous 2 years.
While these scholarships are open to all enthusiastic netballers who meet the above criteria, anyone who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, who comes from a regional or remote area, or who will be the first person in their family to attend university, is strongly encouraged to apply.
Established in 2019, the UQ Firebirds Scholarship has allowed several young members of the netball community support their academic ambitions.
