The comprehensive upgrade includes the redevelopment of 14 hard courts, a complete rebuild of the clubhouse with improved accessibility pathways and revamped parking facilities designed to better serve the growing netball community.
Netball Queensland Chief Executive Officer Kate Davies joined Federal Minister for Sport and Member for Lilley Anika Wells MP and Brisbane Netball Association President Kerri Coory to officially open the new clubhouse on Tuesday, February 17, celebrating this milestone achievement for netball in Brisbane's northern suburbs.
The Association secured $3.9 million through the Community and Recreational Assets Recovery and Resilience Program to rebuild the courts and $3.3 million through the Regional Development Investing in Our Communities Program to redevelop the clubhouse.
The Association’s upgrade represents a key component of Netball Queensland's Infrastructure Strategy 2024–2034, which is driving progressive improvements across the organisation's statewide footprint of 83 venues and 904 courts. This network includes 728 hard courts, with 643 of these featuring lighting to extend playing hours and maximize facility utilisation.
To meet increasing demand for quality netball facilities across Queensland, Netball Queensland has successfully helped secure $156 million in government investment toward netball and multi-sport facility developments throughout the state. Approximately $80 million of this substantial investment is dedicated specifically to netball infrastructure.
With these world-class facilities now operational, Brisbane Netball Association is well-positioned for what promises to be a huge year in 2026. The upgraded venue will provide enhanced training and competition opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels, ensuring the local netball community has access to premier sporting facilities for years to come.
