The Bull Sharks surged to their fifth-straight win, defeating the Tigers 88-52 at Nissan Arena on Sunday with Kirra Tappenden and Mia Stower deadly from two-point range with 11 and 10 Super Shots respectively.
With local rivals Gold Coast Titans slipping to a second defeat in as many weeks with a 60-54 loss to the Kedron Wavell Cougars, the Bull Sharks are now four points clear on the ladder with the Titans dropping down to third having led the way for most of the season.
The Cougars' victory lifts them into second place on for-and-against with both them and the Titans on six wins from their nine matches.
The Sunshine Coast Thunder, sitting fourth, are also on six wins in a logjam at the top of the ladder after a nailbiting 64-63 win over the Brisbane South Wildcats.
The TAE Aerospace Jets are also still in the hunt for finals after the reigning premiers defeated winless Moreton Bay City Pulse 61-44.
Victory for the reigning premiers leaves them one game outside the top four.
