Defeated in the previous round by the Cougars, the Jets returned to the winner's circle at Nissan Arena on Wednesday with a 55-46 win over the Carina Leagues Club Tigers.
Katie Walker's Tigers have been improving in recent weeks and led the match at halftime but the Jets were able to pull away in the second half to make it eight wins from nine games so far this season.
The Cougars however stay top of the ladder on percentage after they overcame a similarly determined opponent in the Gold Coast Titans in the follow-up match on the Nissan Arena Show Court on Wednesday evening.
A strong start to the fourth quarter was enough for the Cougars to open up a definitive lead over a Titans outfit who had been keeping pace with the league leaders before then as Liz White's team eventually ran out 60-52 victors.
In the remaining game from last Wednesday, the Bond University Bull Sharks kept up their pressure on the top two with a 65-59 win over the Moreton Bay City Pulse but the premiers needed a big fourth quarter effort to overcome the Pulse and stay just one game behind the Cougars and Jets on the ladder.
The round wrapped up on Sunday at Chancellor College with the Sunshine Coast Thunder securing a 76-65 win over last-placed Brisbane South Wildcats.
