The Cougars proved their status as the premier team in the state with a 52-44 win in Sunday's marquee Sapphire Division decider against the iCare Australia Ipswich Jets.
In a typically tight battle between the competition's standout clubs, the Jets were always in the fight in a high quality battle but were unable to get their noses in front in the final term before the Cougars pulled away late to seal the eight point victory.
Cougars' captain and goal shooter Nalani Makunde was named Grand Final MVP after the game with the Zimbabwe international scoring 49 goals at 92.45 per cent.
Defensive duo Gemma Hutchings and Lillyana Rennie were also outstanding for the Cougars as they made up for last year's Grand Final defeat heartbreak.
Earlier in the day, the Cougars proved their status as the benchmark club of the HPNL with a dominant 61-47 win over Gold Coast Titans in the Ruby Division.
Despite a devastating knee injury to Losa Niumata early in the match, the Cougars were always in control against the Titans as they raced to a 15-7 lead at quarter-time and never looked back.
Simone Botha notched 52 goals in a dominant shooting display while goalkeeper Charlotte Blain was named Grand Final MVP for her defensive efforts.
The Grand Final action began with a breathtaking M-League decider between Moreton Bay City Pulse and Redlands Coast Eagles which went into overtime before being won the Pulse 70-65.
The Eagles had led throughout before falling behind the Pulse in the final term only for Jayden Samson's cool two-point finish right in the dying seconds sending the contest into extra time.
Pulse proved too strong in added time however as they surged to a five-point win with goalkeeper Jarrad Gaunt named Grand Final MVP.
