Following Queensland Health’s announcement today of an extended lockdown across South East Queensland, all netball activity will remain suspended in the affected local government areas until at least 4pm Sunday 8 August.
Those LGAs are Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim.
Anyone who have been in SEQ since 1am Saturday 31 July are required to follow the lockdown restrictions even if they are currently located outside of the affected regions.
Community Netball
The current suspension of all netball activity includes training sessions, fixtures, carnivals and all other netball-related gatherings, and will take now be extended until at least 4pm, Sunday 8 August.
Training and netball activity in other parts of the state unaffected by the lockdown may continue, however any participants who have recently been in the affected areas, are required to follow the lockdown restrictions, even if they are currently located outside of the affected regions.

HART Sapphire Series
The HART Sapphire Series finals initially scheduled for Sunday 1 August, have been postponed.
With the extended lockdown announced this morning and games unable to proceed this coming weekend, we are in the process of reviewing the finals fixture to ensure we complete our season.
We will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days and will provide further updates, around rescheduling via our HART Sapphire Series website and socials as soon as practical.
Vicki Wilson Championship
The Vicki Wilson Championships set to be held at Brisbane’s Nissan Arena, 5-6 August, has been postponed until further notice.
Event management are working with stakeholders to identify possible dates for rescheduling this competition and will provide further information as soon as available.
Nissan Arena
Due to the latest announcement from QLD Health to extend lockdown in Brisbane and surrounding areas, Nissan Arena will be closed for community use as per QLD Government guidelines, until 8am Monday 9 August (pending results from lock down).
Your booking at the arena has been cancelled and there are no financial implications to you for this cancellation.
