There was some welcomed news today with Queensland Health announcing Local Government Areas in South East Queensland will come out of lockdown at 4pm Sunday 8 August.
Those LGAs are Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim.
However, some restrictions will remain in place for a further 14 days.
This unfortunately includes no community sport for the next two weeks for these LGA’s.
Cairns and Yarrabah, however are commencing a three day lockdown from 4pm today and the same rules will apply as the South East Queensland lockdown, including no community sport.
Please refer to Queensland Government Updates for detailed information about changes to restrictions.
Community Netball
The extension of restrictions means all netball activity includes training sessions, fixtures, carnivals and all other netball-related gatherings, is not permitted until at least 4pm Sunday 22 August.
Training and netball activity in other parts of the state unaffected by the lockdown may continue, however any participants who have recently been in the affected areas, are required to follow the lockdown restrictions, even if they are currently located outside of the affected regions.
