Tweed’s Green side took out the U18 Championship crown, while their Red team claimed top honours in the Challenge division - a great result for the association at the end of the four-day competition.
More than 210 teams from across Queensland descended on Ipswich for this year’s Senior State Age - the biggest in the event’s history - with over 1700 games played in a festival of netball.
The 2025 edition also saw the rollout of the green wristband initiative, reminding everyone to support and respect our under-18 umpires and ensure they feel safe and valued on court.
In other divisions, MDNA 15 Blue triumphed in the 15 Championship, edging out newcomers Pimpama U15 Orange, while Hinterland dominated in both the 15 and 16 Challenge divisions and also secured the 16 Championship title through their Purple team.
Sunshine Coast, Nanango, SCNA, MacGregor and RNA were among the other associations to claim a divisional title, while CPNA took out the Senior Boys title with a strong performance over QC Boys in the final.
Queensland Catholic Netball Association meanwhile took out the Champion Association prize for their overall performance while Logan City Netball Association won the performance award.
Several umpires received awards - Milla Coggan (Rockhampton), Sienna Crews (Hinterland), Mia Lilley (Moranbah), Emma Rosewarne (Western Districts), Hayley Russell (Toowoomba) and Ashea Taka-Hapi (Logan)
Moranbah umpire Mia Lilley was also awarded her C Badge during the event while Netball Queensland Umpire coaches Jamie Matthews-Maher, Di Cocker, Marc Henning, Dianne Fawcett, Gabby Parker, Jessica Lakeman, Ella Warren, Sue Holden, Eve Shepherd, Gabby Ticehurst, Chantal Hawkins, Sammy Golding, Susan Wallace, Zac Dawes and Janet Coleman provided umpire coaching opportunities.
