Australian Diamond Donnell Wallam has been selected by Bond University Bull Sharks alongside defender Remi Kamo, where the pair will link up with former Firebird Mia Stower.
Wallam’s fellow goalers Emily Moore and Tippah Dwan were drafted by the ACU Brisbane North Cougars and Jets Netball Club respectively.
Brisbane South Wildcats were among four clubs to select two Firebirds in the draft, with experienced midcourt duo Hulita Veve and Lara Dunkley their chosen players.
Young defender Isabelle Shearer will be back on familiar territory after being drafted by the Carina Leagues Club Tigers, the same team she played with in last year’s HART Sapphire Series while a Firebirds training partner.
Joining Shearer at the Tigers will be midcourter Macy Gardner.
Firebirds captain Kim Ravaillion will join Ruby Bakewell-Doran at the Gold Coast Titans.
The HART Sapphire Series draft was implemented in 2023 to give Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) contracted players a formalised opportunity for court time during the season that they may not be getting at the elite level.
The Firebirds during the season will advise HART Sapphire Series coaches within three hours of the completion of an SSN game as to whether the player is available and how many minutes they are available for.
The 2024 HART Sapphire Series begins on April 21 with a triple-header of matches at Nissan Arena.
