Carina Leagues Club Tigers vs Brisbane South Wildcats, Nissan Arena Show Court - 4pm
The Wildcats showed plenty to suggest they'll be a difficult proposition this year, narrowly falling to the Titans by just three points after a stirring final quarter comeback.
With Queensland Firebird Ali Miller and Kydan Tuapou forming a dangerous combination in the goal circle, the Wildcats utilised the newly introduced Super Shot to almost upset last year's second-placed team.
The Tigers fell to the Thunder 57-49 in their season opener and will be eager to bounce back and get into the winner's circle.
Midcourt stars Jessica Laga'aia and Maddi Ridley will be looked to by the Tigers to control possession in a tough challenge for the Wildcats, led by Maddi Davies and Chaise Vassallo.
Sunshine Coast Thunder v ACU Brisbane North Cougars, Nissan Arena Show Court - 6pm
The Cougars will be out to bounce straight back after a narrow round one defeat to the TAE Aerospace Ipswich Jets in the opening weekend.
The grand final rematch was everything fans would've hoped for with the Jets just doing enough to claim a 49-47 win.
Defeat won't sit well with Cougars Head Coach Liz White however and she'll be urging her team to defeat the Thunder.
Simone Nalatu's team has been boosted by the additions of Sunshine Coast Lightning training partners Annie Miller, Maddie Hinchliffe and Jada Delaney, with Hinchliffe a standout in the round one win over the Tigers.
Cougars will hope their strong-looking midcourt which boasts former Firebird Jemma Seymour (nee Mi Mi) and Queensland representatives Jayden Molo and Ellie Brice can fire against a Thunder line-up missing injured Brianna Martyn.
Gold Coast Titans v Bond University Bull Sharks, Carrara Indoor Sport Stadium, Court 1 - 6pm
The Titans will be happy to have got a win in round one against the Wildcats but seeing a 12-point lead whittled down to just three by the end of the game will have given some food for thought during the week.
A home crowd on Carrara will help as they aim to make it two-from-two when they host local rivals Bond University in a mouth-watering Gold Coast derby.
The Bull Sharks have recruited heavily over the off-season after finishing last in 2023, with Head Coach Bec Stower adding key faces including her daughter and former Firebird Mia Stower as well as Firebirds training partner Sasha Flegler.
Bond had the bye in the opening round so will go into their opening match of the season eager to make a splash.
