The A Badge represents one of the most significant milestones on the national umpiring pathway, recognised for the accuracy, composure and game management required to officiate at Australia's highest state level competitions.
Hawkins' accreditation follows a season of consistent, composed performances across the Sapphire Division, where her calm decision-making and strong court presence caught the eye of assessors and coaches alike.
Netball Queensland Head High Performance Umpire Coach Marc Henning said Hawkins' achievement was thoroughly deserved recognition of her dedication throughout the season.
"Chantal's A Badge achievement is a proud moment and fitting recognition of the work she has put into her umpiring this season,” Henning said.
“Chantal's preparation, focus and willingness to keep learning have been outstanding, and this milestone reflects the consistent effort she has shown week on week in HART Premier Netball League.
“Netball Queensland is delighted to see Chantal receive this recognition and it marks exciting step along our umpire performance pathway.”
Hawkins has been a mainstay of the Western Districts umpiring community, progressing steadily through Netball Queensland's umpire performance pathway to reach the elite level of the sport. Her achievement highlights the strength and depth of umpiring talent being developed across Queensland's HART Premier Netball League competitions.
Hawkins is the first Queensland umpire to be awarded a Netball Australia A Badge in 2026.
