TAE Aerospace Ipswich Jets vs Brisbane South Wildcats
The unbeaten Jets continued their fine start to the season with a 77-53 win over the Brisbane South Wildcats, making it four wins from four for Paula Stuart's team.
Up 44-24 at halftime, the Jets went on to post their highest score of 2024, with Chloe Litherland getting more court time in the second half as she continues her comeback from an ACL injury suffered in last year's Grand Final.
The Wildcats, playing without Queensland Firebirds shooter Ali Miller, battled gamely in the second half but the damage was done in the opening half.
Megan Lynch's team have a bye next weekend while the Jets take on Bond University in a mouth-watering clash.
Bond University Bull Sharks vs ACU Brisbane North Cougars
After a stuttering start to their season due to two byes in the first four rounds, the Bull Sharks showed the competition they are building some momentum due to a 71-59 victory over the Cougars.
With Kaylin van Greunen, Dakota Newson and Lauren Aubrey shining for Bec Stower's team, Bond held a nine-point lead at halftime and were able to keep their opponents at arm's length as they posted their second 70-plus score in as many weeks.
A fourth defeat of the season raises real concerns about the Cougars' hopes of defending their premiership with Liz White's team now sitting in the unfamiliar position of sixth on the ladder with just one win so far in 2024.
The Cougars will be desperate to get a win when they face the Carina Leagues Club Tigers next weekend while the Bull Sharks take on the table-topping Jets.
Gold Coast Titans vs Carina Leagues Club Tigers
After missing the opening rounds with an ankle injury, Titans recruit Tia Crombie put in a player of the match performance on her HART Sapphire Series debut in a 76-54 win over the Tigers.
A member of last year's Ruby Series premiership-winning Tigers team, Crombie shone against her former club as the Titans claimed their second win of the season to move into third on the ladder.
Defeat leaves the Tigers last on the ladder on percentage with just one win from five matches going into next weekend's crucial clash against fellow strugglers the Cougars.
The Titans, meanwhile, host the Sunshine Coast Thunder at Carrara on Sunday.
