Jets coach Paula Stuart, in her sixth consecutive HSS or Ruby Series decider, steered the club to its first title but an impressive Titans side in their maiden premiership tilt made them work hard for it.
Multiple touches by goalkeeper Lily Gribble and accurate super shots by substitute goal attack Lily Cubby kept the Jets in the game throughout the first quarter, closing a five point Titans’ lead to within one (16-15) at the first break.
Defensive pressure from both teams lifted a gear in the second quarter, which saw the introduction of young Titans goalshooter Roxanne Rhind to offset the running play of teammate and goal attack Josie Bingham.
It was only a couple of late attempts at goal by the Jets which saw the minor premiers head into half-time with a 29-26 lead.
Rhind maintained her composure under the post but it was another Gribble intercept which pushed the Jets’ advantage out to six points ahead of the third-quarter’s super shot period.
Titans' centre Kourtnee Baird dominated possession, yet missed attempts at goal from her side and accuracy at the other end from Australian 21/U squad member Elsa Sif Sandholt and Cubby extended the Jets' margin to 10 points (47-37) with 15 minutes remaining.
Desperate cover by Titans defender Jess Milne couldn't match the might of a swarm of Jets desperate to extend their nine-point margin with one last super shot time to play, yet Stuart refused to enjoy the moment too early.
"My manager and assistant coach grabbed me at about 2:20 and I said, 'no, no, no, do not celebrate yet, you've seen what happens with the super shot'," Stuart said.
"It was about 40 seconds to go when I went, 'yeah, we've done it. We've done it'."
Stuart said their plan to make the two top on the ladder after regular rounds reflected their determination to go one better this season.
"Two years in a row, losing by one, and to come out and to win it this year has been absolutely amazing," she said.
"The girls wanted it so bad. I take my hat off to everyone."
Sandholt, named grand final MVP, recorded a 97 per cent accuracy with 35 from 36 one-point shots and a two-pointer.
In the Ruby Series, the Carina Leagues Club Tigers celebrated their fifth title in six seasons with a 72-62 victory over the Gold Coast Titans.
A dominant 20-14 third quarter set Joeanne Hope’s near-undefeated 2024 Tigers side up for their third consecutive premiership, with goal shooter Amber Yeates named MVP.
"We set such a high standard for ourselves, first and foremost, and this just means the world," captain Georgia Bloxham said.
"We’ve had a lot of rotation from our Emerald girls, Ruby girls, Sapphire girls. The club’s got phenomenal depth and I’m so excited for 2025 to see what’s next."
While in the Queensland Suns M-League, the Sparks took out this year’s premiership with a 52-38 victory over Ignite.
