Bond University Bull Sharks vs Carina Leagues Club Tigers
The Bull Sharks needed a win to ensure they're still a chance of securing a finals position heading into next weekend's final round of regular season fixtures and they delivered with a 62-46 triumph over the Tigers.
Playing in an eye-catching First Nations dress, the fifth-placed Bull Sharks' win means they're two points behind premiers ACU Brisbane North Cougars and need a win in their final fixture over the Wildcats and a Cougars stumble against the Gold Coast Titans to snatch fourth spot.
The Tigers will also be hoping for a Titans win over the Wildcats with defeat in their final fixture of the season meaning they can only watch this weekend to see if they can stay above the Wildcats on percentage and avoid the wooden spoon.
Brisbane South Wildcats vs Sunshine Coast Thunder
Armed with the return of several key players following the conclusion of the Super Netball Reserves competition, the Thunder were too good for the lowly Wildcats as they romped to a 82-50 win which secured their finals berth for 2024.
The 32-point win, with Sunshine Coast Lightning training partner Charlie Bell spearheading the attack, means third-place Thunder have a chance to overtake the second-placed Titans this weekend if they can defeat the Jets and the Titans drop points against the Cougars.
The Wildcats meanwhile need a win against the Bull Sharks in their final fixture if they're too avoid this year's wooden spoon, with their percentage just marginally worse than the Tigers as both teams sit on just two wins for the season.
Gold Coast Titans vs TAE Aerospace Ipswich Jets
The Titans appeared to be on their way for a monumental win late in this blockbuster clash before a remarkable run by the Jets secured them a one-point win that also means Paula Stuart's team have secured the minor premiership.
The Jets were five points down in this one with just 90 seconds on the clock but scored the final six points of the game to secure a 55-54 win that will be particularly significant for Black Swans representative and Murrawari woman Lily Cubby who shone in the goal circle alongside Firebirds Futures shooter Elsa Sif Sandholt for the Jets.
The defeat for the Titans means they have to beat the rising Cougars in their final fixture to ensure a top-two finish with both them and the Thunder level on points heading into next weekend's final round of matches.
