The announcement follows a record-breaking 2026 Country Carnival held in Mackay earlier this month – the biggest since the event's reintroduction in 2024 – which brought together more than 800 athletes across over 70 teams from regional centres throughout Queensland.
Mackay Netball Association Chair Shelley Walsh said the region was honoured to be entrusted with hosting the 2027 event.
"We are incredibly proud to have been selected to host the 2027 Netball Queensland Country Carnival in Mackay. The opportunity to showcase our region, our facilities and the strong community spirit that makes Mackay such a fantastic destination for major sporting events is invaluable,” Walsh said.
"We are excited to welcome players, officials, families, and supporters from across Queensland and look forward to delivering another memorable carnival in our home town. The event will not only celebrate country netball at the highest level, but will also provide a significant boost to local businesses, tourism, and the wider community.
"Mackay has a proud history of hosting successful sporting events, and we cannot wait to work alongside Netball Queensland, our volunteers and the community to create an outstanding experience for everyone involved in 2027."
The 2027 Country Carnival promises to build on the incredible momentum from this year's event, continuing to celebrate the talent and passion of regional netballers across Queensland.
Further event details and registration information will be shared with associations in the coming months.
