Callum's accreditation is a milestone achievement not just for her personally, but for umpiring in Queensland more broadly.
She becomes the third Queensland umpire to receive a Netball Australia A Badge in 2026, following earlier successes for Western Districts' Chantal Hawkins and Underwood Park's Charlotte Brown.
Remarkably, three A Badge recipients in a single calendar year is the highest number achieved in Queensland in a 12-month period for at least the last 15 years, a clear indication of the strength and depth currently being fostered within the state's umpire performance pathway.
The A Badge is Netball Australia's most prestigious state umpiring accreditation, recognising advanced understanding in game management, decision-making and composure at the highest level of competition.
Netball Queensland Head High-Performance Umpire Coach Marc Henning said Callum's achievement was thoroughly deserved and reflective of her dedication throughout the season.
“Miranda's attainment of the national A Badge is an important milestone that recognises her commitment, professionalism and continued development as an umpire within Queensland's high-performance environment,” Henning said.
“This is an achievement that reflects Miranda's dedication to her craft, embracing feedback and then the ability to apply it positively into her umpiring.
“This success is well-deserved and we look forward to supporting Miranda's next steps in umpiring.”
