In a gala event at Brisbane City Hall on Saturday, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and associations were all acknowledged for their contributions across the year.
The coveted Spirit of Netball Award was claimed by Downey Park Netball Association’s Jodie Garrity for her tireless efforts in multiple roles including as President of The Gap Netball Club.
The 2024 function combined community awards with high performance sporting achievements with HART Sapphire Series premiers TAE Aerospace Ipswich Jets claiming two major gongs with Lily Gribble named Katie Walker Medallist as the competition MVP while Paula Stuart claimed the Performance Coach of the Year award.
Gribble and Stuart were two of several award winners recognised at the event, which included guests and finalists from Netball Queensland’s 17U and 19U teams, Queensland Suns Men’s and Mixed teams, the HART Sapphire Series and Ruby Series teams as well as the 2024 Queensland Gems and First Nations teams.
The NQ Awards came after a highly successful NQ Leaders Conference at SUNPAC where community leaders and members of Queensland’s 82 member associations and their clubs explored netball’s path through 2025 and beyond.
