Netball Queensland is delighted to announce it has partnered with White Cloud Foundation to provide tele-mental health services to its athletes, referees, members and staff. White Cloud’s services can be accessed free of charge by Netball Queensland staff, representative players, Member Associations and clubs and their participants, associated family members and other affiliates as the organisation’s preferred mental health service provider.
Netball Queensland Chief Executive Officer Kate Davies said the agreement ensured the state’s netball community had access to leading mental health support. “Netball Queensland’s strategic plan for 2023-25 has a focus on delivering a supportive and accountable workplace culture as part of our LEAD pillar,” Davies said.
“As one of our Big Moves in 2024 we are aiming to review and refresh Netball Queensland’s health and well-being support for staff and athletes. “Partnering with White Cloud is a fantastic early start to building out that strategic initiative.”
Established in 2011 by Brisbane-based Professor Adam Scott, White Cloud provides practical support and easier access to clinical treatment for people living with, or at risk of developing depression and/or anxiety.
As a registered charity, all of White Cloud’s programs and services are funded through donations, grants, sponsorship and fundraising activities. "We’re thrilled to partner with Netball Queensland to provide everyone in their community with access to the White Cloud Tele-Mental Health service,” said Professor Scott, Founder and Chair of White Cloud Foundation.
“The service works by connecting people struggling with depression and/or anxiety with White Cloud’s multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals via phone or videoconferencing. This team work together to look at a client’s stressors, relationships, diet, exercise, sleep and other factors in order to develop individualised treatment plans that support that patient from all fronts – physically, emotionally, mentally and practically.
“Anyone over 12 years of age can access White Cloud Tele-Mental Health for just the cost of a local call. There are no other costs involved. People seeking help or support can just call us direct to speak to one of our psychologists, counsellors, social workers, dietitians and/or exercise scientists/physiologists.”
