This year's selection was announced following the biggest trials to date, highlighting the growth of the Gems program and depth of talent across the state.
As well as the team selection and training partners, selectors have also named eight development players, creating additional opportunities for emerging athletes to continue to develop and be involved in the Gems' pathway.
Last year's introduction of regional academies in Townsville and Toowoomba is already paying dividends with Townsville duo Olivia Marson and Amelia Busuttil being selected, Amelia in the Marie Little Shield team and Olivia as a training partner.
The Gems will now begin preparing for the Marie Little Shield at Thornbury's Narrandjeri Stadium from September 4-6 in partnership with Visit Victoria.
