Pulse have played a leading role in funding and initiating the two-day event during which three of the club’s teams will take on Ruby North franchises and invitational teams.
As well as the significant financial contribution from Pulse, Netball Queensland and Townsville City Netball Association have played key roles in helping this weekend’s event come to fruition.
Pulse’s Ruby team will face Ruby North duo North Queensland United and Far North Flames in the main division along with the First Nations Academy of Excellence Townsville Premier League Team and Fiji Under-21s.
A development division boasting Pulse’s Emerald and Development teams will compete alongside each other as well as North Queensland United’s development squad and a Townsville Premier League Invitational team.
“This event provides a vital opportunity for our athletes to gain match experience and prepare for the HART Premier Netball League debut in June,” Pulse Managing Director Candice Tahuri said.
“Moreton Bay City Pulse represents the spirit of community and empowerment on and off the netball court. We are dedicated to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for all players.”
Former Silver Fern and Pulse Specialist Defensive Coach Temalisi Fakahokotau lauded the event’s inclusiveness, bringing together and providing opportunities for athletes from all backgrounds.
“It is a special moment for us to not only showcase our talented athletes but also to create inclusive opportunities for growth in netball,” Fakahokotau said.
“This commitment to fostering talent and empowering future generations is what makes Pulse a true leader in our sport.”
The Northern Pre-Season Challenge will be held at Townsville Stadium on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April.
