Having won all three of their pool matches to qualify for Sunday's grand final, the Queenslanders were too strong for South Australia in the decider at the State Netball Centre in Naarm (Melbourne) with a 37-35 victory securing the title.
After trailing by one goal at the end of the first quarter in the grand final, a 10-6 second quarter swung the match the way of Queensland with a five-goal run putting Sharon Finnan-White's team on top.
Queensland extended their margin to four points in the third term before South Australia rallied to level the scores at 21-all before another Queensland surge ensured they held a two-goal lead heading into the final quarter.
Both teams went goal for goal for most of the final quarter after South Australia again levelled the match but when a shot from South Australia goal attack Kira Buckskin missed and bounced out of play, the Queenslanders pounced to open up a three-point lead with under two minutes to play.
From there Queensland controlled the final stages of the match to complete an undefeated campaign.
Queensland goalers Ebony Martyn (18 from 19) and Lily Cubby (19 from 23) shared the scoring in the final while goalkeeper Brooke Lacey was a standout in defence and Jayden Molo ran the midcourt.
Murrawarri woman Cubby was named tournament MVP while Waanyi woman Molo claimed the grand final MVP award.
Cubby (GS), Molo (C) along with Nunukul Nughi and Kabi Kabi woman Kiesha Muckan (GD) and Mabuyag and Saibai Island woman Maryke Babia (WD) were all named in the Team of the Tournament, capping off a sensational three days for the Queenslanders.
