Building on the strong success of previous years, the Container Cup will once again bring clubs and associations across the state together to recycle eligible 10-cent containers through Containers for Change, helping the netball community raise valuable funds while supporting sustainability initiatives.
A total of $15,000 in Hart Sport vouchers will be up for grabs in 2026, with the top three organisations based on container volume per registered member to be rewarded. First place will receive a $5,000 voucher, second place will receive $3,000, and third place will receive $2,000.
There will also be several additional prizes on offer throughout the competition. A $1,000 prize will be awarded to the organisation with the highest container returns during the sign-up period from 1 April to 30 April. New member clubs will also have the chance to win $1,000, with the first club to collect 1,000 containers taking home the prize. Existing member clubs can compete for $1,000 for the highest percentage increase in container returns compared with the same period last year.
Further category prizes include $500 for associations with fewer than 1,000 members with the highest volume percentage, $500 for associations with more than 1,000 members with the highest volume percentage, $500 for clubs with more than 250 members with the highest volume percentage, and $500 for clubs with fewer than 250 members with the highest volume percentage.
The official sign-up period will run from 1 April to 30 April 2026, with the competition then running through until 30 September 2026.
New for 2026 is the Partners Program, which will give clubs the opportunity to sign up for added support and infrastructure that can also benefit their wider association.
By joining the Partners Program clubs will receive support from Containers for Change including a smooth sign-up process, a simple self-starter kit for clubs and marketing assets, Containers for Change bin provision and an assigned operator for collections for associations.
The Container Cup continues to show how small actions can make a big difference, with every container returned helping clubs, associations and communities across Queensland.
