Defending back-to-back Cup champions Canterbury College had their title defence ended at Nissan Arena by Somerset College, but it was St Peters who defeated Somerset 29-26 in the Cup final to take out the title.
St Peters’ Julia Searles was named MVP of the Cup division grand final.
Canterbury finished third in the Cup division as the two-day competition finals were decided with 52 teams competing across the Cup, Shield and boys’ divisions.
There was another first-time winner in the hotly contested boys’ division with Smithfield State High School defeating Glenala State High School in the final with Smithfield’s Brock Adaway named grand final MVP.
King’s Christian College defended their Shield division title, extending a run of victories for Gold Coast schools in that division stretching back to 2018.
King’s defeated Moreton Bay College in the Shield grand final with Mischa Barton named MVP.
King’s and St Peters were the only two teams to go through the finals undefeated, both teams drawing one of their matches on the way to their titles.
Across the whole two days an incredible 8660 goals were scored as this year’s highly successful Vicki Wilson Championship – which featured 258 schools from across the state competing in regional rounds – wrapped up.
Netball Queensland also thanks partners University of Queensland, Fulton Hogan, Origin, Mizuno, Nissan and Valour for activating during the finals to provide plenty of colour and excitement off the court.
