Warren, from Sunshine Coast Netball Association, is the first A-Badge awardee of the season from Queensland after an impressively swift progression through the umpiring pathway.
Having made her debut in the HPNL Ruby Series last year, Warren debuted at the Sapphire Division level in Round 2 of this season.
Remarkably, it has taken Warren just 21 HPNL matches to achieve her A-Badge, an achievement many umpires do not reach even after officiating more than 50 games at this level.
The A-Badge is the highest domestic umpiring accreditation within Australia, and Warren’s achievement reflects her commitment, skill and composure in the high-pressure environment of Queensland’s premier netball competition.
Netball Queensland also congratulates Tahu Whaanga, who recently received her High-Performance Bench Official Accreditation in Round 12 of Suncorp Super Netball.
Whaanga, who has been officiating in SSN for two seasons, is Queensland’s only High-Performance awardee for the year and this accreditation grants her eligibility to officiate at the highest level of international matches and is a testament to her professionalism and expertise courtside in the world’s best netball league.
These achievements highlight the strength of Netball Queensland’s officiating pathways, which support umpires and officials to progress from grassroots to the elite level while remaining connected with the netball community across the state.
Netball Queensland congratulates Warren and Whaanga on these significant milestones and thanks them for their dedication to the game.
