The scale of this year's event is remarkable, with 183 teams from 53 Netball Queensland Associations set to contest 1,614 matches across four action-packed days. More than 2,000 players will take the court, supported by over 200 coaches and 200 managers, creating an atmosphere of participation and community celebration.
This year's event welcomes exciting new participants to the Senior State Age family. Tableland Netball Association and Sarina and District Netball Association will make their debut appearances, while the competition celebrates the return of Laidley and Districts Netball Association, who last attended in 2011, and Murwillumbah Netball Association, returning after their 2013 participation.
Adding further diversity to the competition, three invitational clubs will field four teams: Capricorn Netball Region (Capricorn Panthers) and Darling Downs Netball Region (Darling Downs Stampede) will each compete with boys' teams, while the First Nations Academy of Excellence will field both 15U and 18U teams.
The tournament will feature 180 umpires, with Netball Queensland Umpire Coaches providing valuable development and support throughout the event.
Importantly, Netball Queensland's Green Armband Initiative will be in place across all competitions. This crucial initiative supports under-18 umpires by creating a safer, more encouraging environment. The green armbands serve as visual reminders to players, coaches and spectators that these are young officials developing their skills, promoting the respect and understanding essential to nurturing the next generation of umpires.
The 200-plus registered coaches will benefit from dedicated support through Netball Queensland's Coach Development team, who will provide real-time mentoring opportunities to help refine skills and share fresh insights in this dynamic competitive environment.
Netball Queensland also thanks Townsville City Council for their support in bringing the event to the city.
Several Netball Queensland partners will also be activating at this year’s event, adding plenty of fun and colour off the court including all your merch needs from Tribal Sport, equipment and competition balls available from HART Sport, McDonald’s water stations as well as MVP vouchers, Containers for Change container return facilities, the Suncorp Team Girls cart ensuring you have everything you need to perform your best, the opportunity to win a coaching session with Queensland Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills and a Firebirds player thanks to Ray White Queensland and the opportunity to win two corporate box tickets to a Queensland Firebirds match at Nissan Arena as well as flights and accommodation thanks to the University of Queensland.
For those unable to attend in person, comprehensive coverage of the 2026 Senior State Age will be available through NetballQTV.
