In a see-sawing contest, the Tigers came out on top over Bond University Bull Sharks with a 37-32 win in the 18U final at Nissan Arena on Tuesday.
The Cougars meanwhile were too strong against Brisbane South Wildcats in the 16U final, winning 45-24.
Defender Edie Lenarduzzi was named MVP of the 18U final, as the Tigers bounced back from a 12-goal loss to Bond in the round games to claim gold with an unanswered nine goal run at the start of the fourth quarter proving decisive.
In the 16U, Cougars' goal attack Marley Burns claimed the MVP of the 16U decider as her team completed an undefeated tournament with a dominant 21-goal win.
The finals wrapped up a four-day feast of high-quality netball featuring the best young players across the state.
Over 200 athletes from 22 teams competed across both grades with Gold Coast Titans and the Cougars sharing bronze in after a draw in the 18U third-place playoff while TAE Aerospace Jets were too good for the Titans in the 16U third-place decider.
Dozens of bench officials and umpires from across Queensland also played a key role to the tournament’s success.
Following the titles, a selection of 17U and 19U players have been chosen by Netball Queensland as State Squads to trial throughout the month of November before a final cohort of 16 players is chosen in both age groups in December.
Those squads will then complete a final selection process in January where the final team and training partners are chosen for next year’s Netball Australia National Championships.
