Since launching in 2019, Woolworths has donated $1.4 million to 322 netball clubs across Australia through the Woolworths Netball Grants program, helping local communities grow stronger through sport.
This year’s program has been refreshed to help even more clubs benefit.
40 clubs will each receive a $2,000 grant, and the popular $20,000 People’s Choice Award returns, giving clubs the chance to earn extra funding by rallying community votes.
In an exciting update, up to 10 winning clubs will be announced each month, meaning applicants don’t have to wait until the end of the campaign to find out if they’ve been successful.
A dedicated website now features a full application portal and a toolkit of social and digital assets to help clubs promote their submissions and gather votes.
Last year, Gladstone Netball Association was one of the lucky recipients, using their Woolworths Netball Grant to install a hydration station at their venue – a simple but impactful addition helping athletes, members and visitors stay cool and energised during training and game days.
“The recent addition of a hydration station courtesy of a grant from Woolworths has been a long-awaited addition to our facilities,” Gladstone Netball Association President Kate Frost said.
“The impact of this addition will be immeasurable - giving players, volunteers and members access to clean, fresh water safely.
“Previously our only outdoor water access was via a garden tap, so this new facility has been welcomed with much excitement. Thank you to Woolworths for giving us the opportunity to provide a safer environment while looking after the wellbeing of our community.”
Whether you need new equipment, upgrades to your facilities, or support for growing participation, a Woolworths Netball Grant could make all the difference.
