Following on from the great strides taken by the YAG each year since its inauguration in 2021, a selection of nine people ranging in age from 12 to 24 have been chosen.
“I hope to see as much participation as possible in all roles that netball has to offer,” YAG member Caitlin Weder said of what she hopes to achieve during her time in the group.
“I already love getting to see others' perspectives and ideas, and hope to continue to work with YAG members, NQ representatives and members on an association/club level to continue growing the sport and see the positive impact that YAG has on our netball community.”
As well as their age range, those selected represent a wide cross-section of the state with Rockhampton, Tully, Townsville, Lockyer Valley and Gympie residents among the group.
“The Youth Advisory Group concept has provided valuable feedback to NQ management on youth sentiment and experience of participating in netball year on year,” NQ General Manager Netball Glenn Dennis said.
“This new cohort for 2025 has already displayed a can-do attitude and willingness to provide benefits to themselves and the entire netball community in their initial meetings and we’re eager to see what they can achieve throughout the year.”
The 2025 YAG will meet monthly, discussing a variety of topics regarding netball across our state as well as making presentations and connecting to a wide variety of Netball Queensland staff members across the business.
