The Bull Sharks put on a final-quarter blitz in Sunday's preliminary final at Nissan Arena to stun the Thunder with a 68-66 win and set-up a decider with minor premiers Kedron Wavell Cougars this weekend.
Having trailed throughout, the Bull Sharks went into the final term down by four but a run of four straight goals by Kaylin van Greunen wiped out that deficit right at the start of the fourth quarter.
Van Greunen, who was a doubt heading into the match due to illness, shot the lights out in the final term as the Bull Sharks hit the front and when Sally Jenkins couldn't land a couple of late two-point attempts for the Thunder to secure Bond's passage to the grand final.
The win is the first time Bond have defeated the Thunder during Bec Stower's tenure as Bull Sharks Head Coach.
They will now face grand final regulars the Cougars in Bond's first Sapphire division grand final appearance.
Liz White's team will be the heavy favourites having claimed back-to-back wins over Bond in the final week of the home and away season and then in the semi-finals a fortnight ago.
In Sunday's other grand final match-ups, the Cougars will be chasing a double when they tackle the Gold Coast Titans in the Ruby Series decider while the M-League grand final is between Moreton Bay City Pulse and the Brisbane South Wildcats.
Sunday's action begins with the M-League at 2pm, Ruby at 4pm and then the Sapphire Division from 6pm.
